DOVEDALE PARK

Public BBQ

Dovedale Park offers a refreshing retreat in Harrisdale, where the natural shade of established trees creates a cool, serene atmosphere perfect for family gatherings. The park's centrepiece is undoubtedly its flying fox, which consistently proves a crowd-pleaser with children who return again and again for another ride across the playground. The equipment here caters primarily to older children over three years, featuring rope climbing structures alongside the beloved flying fox. While the playground may seem modest in scale, its quality structures provide solid entertainment for an hour or so. Natural tree cover eliminates the need for artificial shade, creating a pleasant environment even on warmer days. Families often arrive with their own food and drinks to make the most of the space, though visitors should note the absence of toilet facilities. The park includes a small barbecue area, making it suitable for casual gatherings. Convenient kerbside parking sits right beside the main play area, while skateboarders appreciate the metal-capped ledge with step-up possibilities. The surrounding residential setting means occasional background noise from neighbouring properties, but the park's tranquil atmosphere generally prevails, making it a solid choice for Harrisdale families seeking outdoor recreation.
